I bought a big spider plant a couple of months ago. It only has 2 stems for growing babies. How do i get the plant to grow more stems for baby spider shoots. I just have mostly leaves. The plant is large and sits near a window in indirect sunlight. I'm new to spider plants and would like to see some of the little shoots growing on it.

So my spider plant shots stems for babies alot...but all the babies seem to burn up and die. It's not in a window with a ton of sun. It gets full sun for about 2 hours in the morning, then indirect light the rest of the day. It's in a well drained pot and I water it once a week. I can always see when it needs water . What am I missing? I also try not to over or under fertilizer.

Glad to learn about grow light. I need it in UK as you do not get much sunlight especially during winter . I hope there is one here in Bahrain but I doubt as there is too much sunlight here, anyway they might have in UK. Thank you and have a lovely day

I have this light since a couple of years and it's a great little light. However, don't fall for the marketing nonsense. A 70 Watt LED does NOT equal 700 Watt old school light bulbs. It's more like 100-120 Watts. It's still a substantial improvement but far from 700 Watt. I wish that light manufacturers would stop these outright lies. Another thing to keep in mind is that this light lacks a dimmer. Meaning, it will always use 70 Watts and you have to "dim" it by raising the light further away from your plants. Works fine but isn't great for your electricity bill. For that reason, I always recommend buying lights with a dimmer as it is more versatile while saving money. An alternative to this SANSI light is a ViparSpectra P600. A 95 Watt light with a dimmer. I also have this light for a couple of years and it still continues to impress me. There are tons of other lights out there so look for one that suits your needs. Just make sure it has a dimmer. Your wallet will thank you.
